Core Mentoring Banner

The Drupal Association stores and ships a roll-up banner. This is used at the mentor booth.

Contribution Day Venue Supplies

  • One room with audio/video capabilities to be used for First-Time Contributor Workshop and announcements.
  • One room for general contribution.
  • One room for mentored contribution.
  • Easels or equivalent signage for displaying:
  • General Contribution table map (erasable for Contribution Day leads to assign topic tables)
  • Paper or dry erase boards for use by participants

Mentor Apparel

Mentor apparel such as branded ribbons, t-shirts, and/or bright masking tape is used to help Contribution Day sighted participants identify Mentors.

Mentor Supply Box

A mentor supply box contains supplies that mentors can use to help organize Contribution Days so that mentors do not need to worry about coordinating procurement of supplies at unfamiliar venues. The Mentor Booth Lead organizes, keeps inventory, and coordinates with the Drupal Association to order new inventory and coordinate transfer of the box back to the Drupal Association for shipping and storage.

There are two mentor supply boxes with independent inventory lists:

Typical contents of the mentor supply box

Describes mentor supplies in preparation and use for contribution days. These are the required supplies, but the box can be used to transport other supplies between venues as needed.

Permanent Markers Thick permanent markers used to draw on card stock, name tags, and post-it easel pads. Multiple colors = good. >4 Mentor Box
Dry Erase Markers Thick dry erase markers used to draw on Dry Erase Boards. Multiple colors = good. >4 Mentor Box
Masking Tape Masking tape is used for mentors to "badge" themselves so that mentors are easier to recognize. Also general purpose use for sticking things. More colors = good. 4 rolls Mentor Box
Surge Protector/Power Strip A power strip or surge protector that we can use at booth. European events need adapters depending on location. 1 Mentor Box
Tote Bag A fabulous tote bag that mentors can use to carry supplies around. 1 bag Mentor Box
Color Card Stock/Construction Paper Thicker paper used in various colors (white and other bright colors) that mentors use to identify contribution topic tables, booth announcements, etc... 4 sheaths Mentor Box Be descriptive about the color and type of paper to order.
Stroopwaffel A delicious snack for mentors. 1 package Strongly object if this is not provided at a contribution day
Clear Plastic Envelope/Bag Used to organize loose items in the Mentor Box such as stickers, pens, etc... 1-3 bags Mentor Box
Scissor Used to cut paper and ribbons 2 Mentor Box
Sheet Protector Clear plastic paper sheet protectors used to make booth signs. 1 box Mentor Box
Pen Multiple pens in various colors for note-taking. 20 Mentor Box
