The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) is an international consortium of university, college, and independent research libraries. Founded in 1949, CRL supports advanced research and teaching in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences by preserving and making available to scholars a wealth of rare and uncommon primary source materials from all world regions.

CRL is based in Chicago, Illinois, and is governed by a Board of Directors drawn from the library, research and higher education communities.

Drupal contributions

The Center for Research Libraries is a strong user and advocate for Drupal. The organization leverages Drupal for several public facing and internal systems, from highly specialized data-driven applications to general marketing and communication needs. CRL's in-house development team is very active in the Drupal community and contributes to numerous Drupal projects (patches, support, documentation, etc.) within both the core and contrib spaces. CRL is also largely responsible for the development and maintenance of v7.x-2.x of the Crowd SSO module.
