Congratulations to Drupal for winning a CNET Webware 100 award in the publishing category.

The 2008 Webware 100 Awards recognize the best Web 2.0 sites, services, and applications on the Web today. After receiving more than 5,000 nominations for inclusion in the Webware 100, CNET's editors selected 300 finalists. But the Web's users decided the final cut, voting nearly two million times to select the 100 top products--10 each in of 10 categories--from our list of 300 finalists. We hope that the Drupal community is excited about being selected by your users. And we congratulate the Drupal community on offering a great Web service.

If you are at Web 2.0 this week please join in celebrating this win by attending the Webware Party at Web 2.0 in San Francisco, Thu Apr 24 16:30 – 18:00 (PDT), and partake in the Web 2.0 Expo official Booth Crawl Moscone West, Level 1, Expo Hall, near Web 2.0 booth, #143. Registration is free with this code "websf08wbw."

Great news for people like me who are new to Drupal. My newest project will surely get inspired with this achievement. Thanks to the developers and the volunteers. Of course, the more people use Drupal, the more it will spread.

If you didn't know that Adobe used Drupal, then you haven't checked out the popular Flex Showcase. Adobe has a newsletter for developers called "Adobe Edge" and published a short article Review of open source content
management systems
and Drupal made the top picks and got an honor for winning this recent award. Other reviewed systems were Joomla!, Xoops, CMS Made Easy, and Wordpress.

Not sure what was reviewed, D5 or D6? If it's indeed the latter, then it just goes to show how fantastic the new release is, and the ground breaking improvements it brought with it. Here's to another massive record breaking year ahead :)
