Description
hello there,
i'm thinking of integrating Auction into a site selling downloadable products- great module btw. although this is still far away i thought i could post my feature request now already as the dev's or somebody else might be interested in realising it until then, which would just serve my needs ;)
as for downloadable goods (as well as others maybe too) i don't have any stock limitations and i don't really want to wait until every auction ends to sell the item only once, so why don't give it to the first x highest bids? Maybe something for auction 2.0 ;)?
cheers

An interesting idea, but please don't count on me implementing it any time soon. An alternative could be to simply start X auctions simultaneously and set them all to have the same absolute expiry time. You'll still have X winners (assuming all auctions have at least one bidder), though they'll be in parallel instead of serial.

yep i know- i've read other posts from you and know you did the whole module upon a request from some company, so i haven't been expecting anything to happen really :) i already have the possibility implemented on my site to sell a certain good max. x times a day/week/month, now i came across your module by accident and thought it would be nice if i could combine that with auctions like described above; and probably somebody else thinks this is a good idea too and is willing to implement it on his site, before i get the time to try it on my own....more or less a shot in the dark :)

oh and btw, for anybody interested, this system of e.g. having the top 5 bids win could result in interesting bidding actions/dynamics, maybe more bets and if it works out well probably higher sales/achieved prices, if you think of it. an interesting point also is, next to the "normal" thing where the user can see all 5 bids of other people, to show the user only the highest bid, or only the lowest of these 5; one could think of quite a lot things here to boost auctions in general...
