6.2 unrecoverable error

Just installed Drupal 6.2 (via Go Daddy) and can't run an update successfully out of the box.
Disabled all optional modules and ran update.php and got:
"An unrecoverable error has occurred. You can find the error message below. It is advised t copy it to the clipboard for reference. Please continue to the error page" (but I don't get any error page)
"An error occcurred. http://www.example.com/update.php?id=12&op=do(no information available)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
