problem installing a theme

Hi all im running drupal 6.2 on xampp
I cant install a theme in Drupal i did make a folder in drupal/sites/all/themes/[my custom theme]
but it dint show up in the administrator > site building > themes
I even tried installing in Drupal/themes
Even then its not showing up on the administrator > site building > themes..
please help!

do you have a correct .info file inside your theme ?
because your theme is custom you will have to explain a little more about how it is built?
have you tried other contrib themes from the downloads area ?
have you tried clearing the theme registry ?
No i haven't cleaned the theme registry
no i haven't cleaned the theme registry Oh well i don't know how to clean.!

of the 4 questions I asked you only answered 1. So I can only further elaborate on the one.
go to administer -> performance and click the clear cache button.

i got the theme working thanks "very misunderstood" lolz.. eah can u tell me more about .info file.
provide link if possible.. ill learn.
