Mirror server

Hello Everyone,
My drupal website targets people all over the world.
Currently I have a server based in Hong Komg which works quite well for Hong Kong and the neibghouring areas, but the site becomes so slow in the US and in Europe.
An IT guy as suggested to consider setting up several mirror servers accross the world to increase the speed but warned me that I should first check if drupal is suitable for this or not.
Does anyboby has a clue?

Yes I did do a search but the few threads that I found were very old ( 3 years or so...). Anyway, thanks for the tip!
