Here is how to link directly to the pages that can show only filtered publications without going to filter tab:
* in the same way as it is for author

* to show only records from year 2004
http://yourdrupalsite.com/biblio/year/2004
* to show only journal articles
http://yourdrupalsite.com/biblio/type/102 (enter Type ID here). You can look up Type Id in this link - yourdrupalsite.com/admin/settings/biblio/types.
